I have often heard about melanin, what is it? Is it an enemy of our skin?

Melanin is a natural substance that gives color (pigment) to hair, skin, and the iris of the eye. It is produced by cells in the skin called melanocytes. Melanin controls the amount of ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun that penetrates skin.

Melanin is actually a friend of our skin because it absorbs harmful UV-radiation and transforms the energy into harmless heat. It is important to protect your skin from UV rays because not enough sun protection can increase melanin production leading to hyper-pigmentation.

Try our  Vitamin C Daily Protection Moisturizer SPF 30 , which is a broad spectrum sunscreen moisturizer, protect your skin from both the harmful UVA and UVB rays.
